I’m thrilled to share my recent
conversation with Yogaratna on The Big Sit podcast! We dove deep into
the ideas behind my book, How to BE the Change We Need: Meditation and
Politics, exploring how mindfulness can bridge the gap between our
political ideals and real-world actions. Meditation isn’t just a personal
practice—it’s a powerful tool for cultivating values like truth, honesty, and
trust, which are so desperately needed in today’s world.
In the interview, we discussed how small,
mindful changes in our habits and behaviors can create a ripple effect,
inspiring meaningful transformation in both our personal lives and the larger
political landscape. I also shared practical meditation techniques from the
book, rooted in Buddhist teachings yet accessible to everyone, regardless of
their faith or background.
This journey has been deeply rewarding,
combining my decades of research into creative and reflective practices with
over 20 years of meditation experience. I hope the book inspires readers to
take a reflective approach to the challenges we face today. If you’re curious
to hear more, I’d love for you to check out the full discussion!
